Welcome to my 'about' blog for Van & I.

Van & I began to take shape in June 2023.  For 10 years I had been longing to start my own business and make a break from the teaching profession in which I had spent 23 years.

I love driving - and had previously had stints as both a taxi driver and a milkman - and longed to be out on the road again, but this time working for myself.

Decided (after lots of thought) to buy a van and start a removals, deliveries, courier business.

Next job was to kit it out the van with the right gear.

I had several different ideas for a name and brand but eventually settled on Van & I - the van that lends a helping hand, and chose the bottom logo.

It was then time to add it onto the van and create business cards and leaflets.

Spent the next month learning but I found the best way to actually learn was to hit the road.  Started off by advertising on FB, using local driver platforms (Anyvan etc) and getting my cards and leaflets out.  Wasn't long before I started getting plenty of work.

And that was how it all began.  

It's now about 3 months into the business and its been absolutely amazing but also been a lot of work (with a lot of lessons learned along the way) 

Am loving being out on the road again, helping people move and being my own boss.
